It is a truly unique site and set of traditional buildings. Wonderfully peaceful even in the midst of Chuseok… The breakfast is an excellent complete Korean meal. The owner and manager is extraordinarily helpful in all kinds of ways, arranging trips, taking us out to get food etc… and quite knowledgeable about the history of the place being himself a member of the family of the original founder. Bukchondaek had such a rich history that's deeply tied into Hahoe village and Korea. The current owner & caretaker Mr Ryu is the person who will greet you and he warmly welcomes you into his home. I loved learning the history behind this traditional hanok, the tour, the amazing food provided, and Mr Ryu's hospitality. Bukchondaek is also at the heart of Hahoe village so if you want to stay in the village, this is the place to be! While it's not a cheap stay, I honestly believe it was worth every penny! Its rare to be able to stay inside the walls of a well kept, well preserved historic house so you must try it at least once.

Location is very good. It has the view of the scenic mountain. The back drop trees are dramatic. There’s an area where we played. It’s so pristine. I like the traditional house experience. But it’s not suited for elderlies because of has only one bathroom and the path is cobble stone. The owner is very accommodating. He is helpful. He served good breakfast with toast and fruits.

It was really great stay. We chose Korean style room, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. I wish we have stayed one more night in Andong to explore the city and cuisine, but in limited time we have focused only on Hahoe Folk Village (which was a highlight in our trip).
