I enjoyed the mornings sitting in the kitchen with the window open, drinking tea, and reading in the fresh breeze. Quiet and peaceful. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Oliver offered me to sit in the garden while waiting for the room to be ready because we came early from a hiking trip. During the stay, he frequently asked if we needed help. The cleaning lady brought us shampoo and shower gel due to the shops were closed on Sundays. Everything is clean.

It is set 4.9 km from Hamburg Central Station and offers a lift. The guest house has family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. It was really close to the Barmbek station and very safe to walk to, the self check-in was really easy. I didn’t use any of the common facilities, but the room was nicely decorated and had all the amenities. There was also an option online to request the change of towels and throw out the trash which I didn’t use because of my short stay, thus I don’t know how that would work but it was a nice touch. I can see how people who are not used to the sound of trains could find the presence of the train tracks nearby a problem. My room was on the 3rd floor facing the train tracks directly and I didn’t consider the sound unbearable, in fact, I barely heard it. The gentleman I had to call in the early Sunday morning to unlock the front gate for me was really nice and helpful.
