Anita and Daniel were so kind and helpful. They met us at the port, provided drinking water (only place we stayed that did so), rented bikes for $5 (not the best bikes, but fine and $10 cheaper than in the town) and arranged our taxi back to the port at the end of our stay. The shower was amazing, the kitchen was fully equipped and it was great to have our own living space for our time on San Cristóbal.

But best of all, the hostel hosts Trudy and Ivan were the most wonderful people and completely made our stay. Ivan has lived his whole life on San Cristobal and worked as a fisherman, and Trudy is descended from the first descendants of Floreana Island (also in the Galapagos). They are so kind and friendly, helped us with information and recommendations, and we so appreciated getting to learn about them and their story. If you stay at Hostal Cattleya, you support a true local family. We love you Trudy and Ivan!
