The town of Fanari is quaint and beautifully located, with amazing sites located at a short driving distance. We came in the winter and were amazed by the natural beauty of the Rhodope mountains in the distance, the strips of land with the sea on one side and the lagoons on the other, and especially the flamingos grazing in the lagoons. The proximity of the beautiful monastery of Agios Nikolaos is another merit of the location. We hope to come to Nero again in warmer weather so we can swim in the sea and make the most of the amazing local beaches!

The host was very hospitable. Situated on the central street of the Mangana with 6-7 tavernas and coffee shops just 5 minutes walking distance. Tavernas are mostly for locals with very reasonable prices and great authentic Greek cuisine. Excellent wide beach with fine white sand 5 minutes by car with free parking, beach bars, showers, toilets and changing rooms
