Swimming pool was a nice surprise after a long safari day. One of the very few if not the only budget option to see the exceptional park. The owner was waiting for us, as It is pretty far from Nairobi, but you can also fly to Masai Mara. But this is meant to experience the local life to the fullest, so it comes with everything included. He took us for tailor- made safaris and went out of his way to show us the Big Five and countless other wonderful creatures. The location was fantastic and ideally located to visit the Masai Mara reserve. Our tent was luxurious and beautifully furnished . They had wooden decks with large verandas, for us to enjoy the sight of zebras, wildebeest and gazelles that grazed and freely roamed around the camp. The camp was exclusive and intimate in character with 3-4 luxury tents, perfect for one large or two small families. The food was par excellence . Robert is a fabulous chef who delighted in serving us exquisite dishes, most beautifully presented. We were quite apprehensive of food as we are vegetarians but it seemed no trouble for the skilled chef. The team, service and hospitality was superb. We took packed breakfast on most morning game drives. They were delicious and plentiful. I would like to make a special mention of the bush dinner with camp fire and lanterns which was really spectacular. William also organised sundowner drinks and it was simply humbling watching the sunset in the vast, peaceful setting of the Mara. We thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the traditional village of the Masai community, which William was happy to organise. To add to all this, the money spent at the camp directly benefits the local Masai community as it provides direct employment and there are no middlemen involved. We stayed 5 nights and each day was above all our expectations. Fantastic place where to stay if you want to be in the middle of wilderness and at the same time feel safe, special and be treated like royalty. Big Thank You to William and his team for making our stay so special and memorable.

Maji Moto Eco Camp is located at the foot of the little-known and spellbindingly beautiful Loita Hills. This is an experience we won't forget! The campsite was beautiful. The facilities are not only functional and eco, they're beautifully designed. The shower and toilet with a view are not to be missed. The hot water is fetched from the natural hot springs, so it really is eco. Just don't spend too long in the shower to respect others wanting a hot shower. Our tent was spacious, and with sufficient privacy. We re-packed everything into one suitcase to avoid taking two big suitcases into the tent for the couple of nights we were there. The staff were very helpful, and explained everything in the camp well. We enjoyed all the food, the culture visits, the tours, learning about Maasai life, and the whole experience. I read in a guide book that it's 'put-on' for tourists but the majority of the staff are real Maasai although they're perhaps of the generation that is now schooled, etc. they still know a lot about their own culture and will happily answer any questions to teach you about their lifestyle.
