They shared their stories with us and told us many interesting things about their life and New Zealand. They have a small bar in that place. If you decide to stay here, you should definitely visit it.

VERY comfy bed with quality sheets in an large room with a bar size frig, microwave, toaster and plenty of dishes. Easy walking all around town.

Close by the national park walks and cave tour also good. Highly recommend.

Offering free WiFi and set on the bank of a stream, Chalet Karaka offers accommodation 3 minutes' drive from Takaka village in Golden Bay. The 5-star guest house has river views, and guests can enjoy access to BBQ facilities . Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.
