Our hostess Gelé was very personable and warm. Very little English-speaking was done in Arenas de cabrales and it was the same at the pension. But we wanted for nothing. The community kitchen allows you to keep a low food budget in a well stocked space. I shared a picture of the community space. Rooms on the river side allowed us to listen to the river and it was the best night of sleep our entire trip. I shared a photo from our window.

There were so many thoughtful details like beautiful body wash and shampoo as well as kitchen extras like salt, sugar, coffee pods and biscuits. I would highly recommend this apartment. Very comfy bed and pillows and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though I messed them around by asking for a different room.
