It was truly a treat to stay in a place that felt like a home away from home.

Everything. The hosts were so nice, so welcoming. We travelled with both our kids and they were so flexible and nice to them. The pool is fantastic. The swing with a view also nice. The breakfast? Delicious. They served fruit from their own garden (we were there during the season for passion fruits, the kids ate them all) When we booked we found the price a bit on the high side, for sure given the location (a bit remote). But once you are there, you see it’s worth it. They are really such nice people

We were here in early June 2023, newly converted and we were their 2nd guests. Very good, no its excellent, accommodation. Coming here is getting away from the tourist scene of beaches and crowds. The kitchen dining living room was easy to work in, the bedroom very comfortable. WiFi, power points, table very workable. Could easily be accommodation could spend a week in. The owner is next door and very helpful. Could easily be used as a base to explore areas within a 20 or 30km or more range. Went to a local restaurant ( cafe Flor do Paraiso) just down the road for probably our best home cooked Portuguese meal of the trip. The cafe is local enough that its not even on Google.

    Beautiful location in the middle of vineyards, overlooking the green valley. Very clean with friendly professional staff. Especially the receptionist Sofie.We enjoyed the served breakfast and the homemade dinners that included local wines. It was also great to be able to cool down in the pool after we went for a hike to the Paiva walkway.

    The location is beautiful next to the Douro river. The building is beautiful renovated. The wellness facilities were nice. Breakfast was ok (although no buffet). The location is almost like in Asia or South America so beautiful. I liked that we could use the kitchen too.

    Beautifully tranquil with amazing views of the river. Delicious food in the restaurant. An ideal hotel regardless of the weather. It rained for a lot of our stay but we didn’t mind because there’s lots to keep you preoccupied - wine tasting, indoor pool and spa, snooker table!
