Hotel De Walvisvaarder lies exactly in the centre of the beautiful Dutch island Terschelling. All Meals were very good, as expected. The updates to the rooms were a surprise since the last visit.

Comfortable and very friendly staff. I highly recommend staying at this hotel during your Terschelling visit. Upon arriving at Pension de Wadvaarder (through the back gate), you’ll enter into a cozy living room and dinning area. Gerrit & Annemieke have a great sense of style and it shows throughout the property, including the garden. The bedroom was spacious and had a small reading room with books (in Dutch). For breakfast you are provided a checklist of items to choose from which are then freshly assembled for you in the morning. The items are excellent quality, some derived from Terschelling (cheese, cranberry compote, eggs…) - lekker! The pension is close to the village center and bus stop. Hikes on the dike, in the forrest, on the dunes, and beach are easily manageable. Of course you can also bike if you want to move around faster and farther.

De Cyprian is a traditional farm set in scenic countryside, in the small village of Baaiduinen on the island of Terschelling. The location was convenient to the west, mid, and east side of the island. The breakfast was delicious and served in a very cool dining area. The breakfast buffet was an old boat attached to the wall.

We were arriving late into the night, and we got an explicit instruction about how to check in. The room was clean, comfy and it had an AC. which was rather nice during the (uncommonly) high temperatures. The bed was very good, we slept well. The common area has unlimited tea/coffee facilities, as well as a refrigerator and a tea kettle, which help fix your cup of tea or a glass of cooled wine at any time. The owner of the B&B is very nice and welcoming, she spoke perfect English and was able to navigate us around the town and the isle. The breakfast was good, everything we could have wanted was there. On top of it, due to our early departure, we could not take breakfast during the breakfast hours, so the owner did offer us a breakfast to go...which was indeed, very kind!
