The hosts were super nice, friendly and accommodating. Wilma stayed in my cabin to look after my pets one night so that I could go kayaking and see the bioluminescence in the harbor. You cannot beat this kind of customer care! Franco buit me a bonfire twice during my stay. You just have to ask and Wilma and Frano will do their best to accommodate you.The site itself is super quiet. I only had to look up to see monkeys, parrots and a great variety of birds. The kitchen was well equiped. I loved every minute of my stay there. Going to the beach was an adventure and my dogs loved the walk there. They struggled a bit crossing the river over a suspended log, but that was part of the adventure:) I only want to add that this is rough camping, simple and secluded. If this is what you are looking for, you will be in heaven.

Drake
At the luxury tent, all units are fitted with a wardrobe. Some units include a balcony and/or a patio with mountain views and an outdoor dining area. The units have a private bathroom, slippers and bed linen. We stayed for 3 nights at Drake Bay River View. When we met Olman, the property manager, in town & were escorted to the property, he said “Welcome to paradise “ & it WAS paradise. Where do I begin, the grounds are beautiful, there is a river fed by mountain rain water & a natural pool has been created by the falling water. You can go down there & swim , lay in a hammock, or sit by the river. The staff do an outstanding job of cleaning. The room had fresh flowers, well decorated & the towels are high end quality. Breakfast are served to your liking. Olman was incredibly hospitable. He was like our personal concierge. He booked excursions for us, made recommendations for restaurants in the evening & booked reservations at the restaurants for us. He met us at the ocean beach when we were done with excursions to see how we were doing & if we had any needs. He said that River View will transport quests if they do not have a car. He also offers to pick up food from restaurants & bring to your room if you would like. All of the restaurants that we ate at in town were very good. The location is only 10 minutes from downtown, which I thought was great to be away from the crowd but nearby.
Drake

The luxury tent offers garden views, an outdoor fireplace and a 24-hour front desk. Elmer and all the volunteers made our stay very comfy. The place is absolutely fenomenal. We brought our own food to cook. Sometimes we had to waite until the staff was finished cooking. But that was no problem. Cooking is on wood fire. This isnt the place for luxury so dont expect this, but you will be rewarded with a touch in the live of an real costarican farm. I would recommend it to everyone. There is a river where you can swim, waterfalls and do especially the night tour.

We stayed at the jungle tent for one night as we had arranged to do the Bioluminescence tour with Franco. The location is just perfect, it’s at the end of a long track and is surrounded by forest. The jungle tent was a really good size and it was a short walk to the showers and toilets. The wildlife around the tent was great, we saw a variety of birds, frogs, crabs and howler monkeys. We did the Bioluminescence tour in the evening which was excellent and a really good social with Franco, his assistant and another couple. Afterwards we returned and Franco and Wilma lit a fire for us and joined us for a drink. The reception we received was very warm and Franco and Wilma are lovely people and can’t do enough to help. In the morning we walked to the beach, the dogs joined us and showed us the way. This took around 20 minutes. The beach is wonderful, it’s large and empty. We saw red Macaw there. The visit felt very authentic and a bit of the touristy track which we enjoyed. I highly recommend it.

Everything about this place is magical, we returned after 10 years and it still is exceptional. Highlights: the owners, the view, the pool, the hammock. Its far enough from the main road so you hear the waves and not the traffic. You get a great view from your room, from your balcony/terrace, from the area with sun beds and from the pool, so basically where ever you are there is a seaview. We loved the walk up the hill, most off it is shaded by beautiful vegetation. Great WIFI, tasty breakfast.
Great place to relax and unwind in nature. You have everything you need to cook and chill in a relaxed air conditioned environment with hammocks outside. During my stay there were horses and deer roaming outside, with the sounds of monkeys and other wildlife. Also near the nature reserve and Isla de Cabuya for excursions. Highly recommended.
Most amazing views. Like living in tropical paradise. Loved lying in the hammock watching the sunset and the wildlife
Loved the authentic accommodation. On the doorstep to all the nature and wildlife you dream of.Kerley and family were wonderful hosts and are passionate about what they do.Very good value, bedrooms were clean with a simple ensuite bathroom but you had everything you needed. The kitchen was very impressive so it was very easy to prepare your own food.if you wanted to..Loved the verandah .We went on bird trips with Kerley, and he looked after us really well.Got some amazing birds and animals and learned plenty from him
Amazing out of the way location immersed in forest and wildlife - well worth the journey & suspect the quieter side of Corcovado. Amazing staff and local guides, nothing too much trouble. Tents secure from wildlife and great to wake up with the sides raised feeling as if you’re in the middle of the jungle. Pool pleasantly cool and deck area very relaxing with lots to see. A real treat!
Garden & hammock, lots of wildlife at sunset, trails, BBQ. Walking distance to Santa Elena (although a bit of a hill!). Very welcoming!
The location. It was right on the edge of the forest and you felt immersed in nature. It was family run and people were so friendly and helpful. They had great communication with us before we arrived and made sure that our tours were planned and that our pick ups were organised. The beach was a still away and deserted and beautiful. Sea view form the room and a veranda with a hammock to lounge on. The room was rustic but they made wonderful towel creatures for us everyday and decorated our dining table for us. Such lovely touches.
rafiki beach camp was a nice stop over after our fantastic time at Rafiki Safari .. both places were amazing .. the tents are more like cabins with great hot showers and the ability to use the kitchen at Rafiki Beach camp was nice as well .. the deserted beach was wonderful for walks
