Great affordable stopover giving us time out of the campervan and a lovely hot shower and WiFi!

Our stay at Maison des Algues was absolutely fantastic. The accommodation is gorgeous, such a comfortable apartment with a lovely outside area with deck chairs, a hammock, pool and jacuzzi, and the location is perfect. The hosts were outstanding, so helpful and kind and welcoming. It was really great using the bikes to cycle around the island too. We’ll definitely be returning!

Beautiful place, great tents!

This compact apartment was in a great location close to the centre of St Martin de Re. Everything was clean and tidy. The large windows had mosquito nets so one could leave the windows open (behind closed shutters) during the day to keep the temperature comfortable. Very nice (and non-leaking!) shower in the compact bathroom.

A warm welcome from very friendly, helpful staff. A good sized room opening onto the pool which was wonderful with plenty of seating and sun beds. Location of the hotel excellent and close to some good bars and restaurants within a very short walk. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and taken in a beautiful garden area. We found no issue with parking.

situated right opposite the beach. we asked for a sea view and were able to enjoy sunset and sunrise over the sea.

Breakfasts were great, good buffet selection. Room was perfect, lovely balcony with comfortable sun beds with view of sea.

Pool was ok, but could have been much better with more space for sun beds. And sun beds could have been provided rather than adjustable chairs. Great location and friendly staff.

the location is excellent, beautiful village of Loix, short walk to two very nice restaurants, short walk to sea where the sunsets are amazing , The rooms were spotless clean, nicely furnished, just a few steps to the lovely swimming pool, the hosts were brilliant, couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly, if you stay here and are offered an evening meal which you have to pre book, you would not be disappointed, top class restaurant quality food! I should have taken pics of the property as the online pics do not do this place justice

As in our Ile d'Oleron stay last year, we found the location at the northern tip of the Ile de Re to be ideal - not too touristy, but lots of wildlife to see, and marshes to cycle around! Beach within 200m of our house for daily swims. Classy restaurant when needed, but nearby supermarket and take-away pizza van too. Well-built modern house, everything worked well, including mosquito screens on key windows.
