I want to thank Rashid for being such a great human being, for all his care and everything he does. Breakfast was delicious, so was dinner. I had a great time in the desert and enjoyed to talk to Rashid about everything and anything. I recommend with all my heart, ifnyou want to enjoy the silence and also learn more about the nice people of Oman.

The food is excellent and plentiful. The accommodation and facilities are basic but very clean. We absolutely loved our evening camel ride.

It is a family run business, created by the father who died only 2 years ago and was a much loved desert conservationist and guide. We were beautifully looked after from the moment of pick up in Muscat by Abdullah for whom no request was too much trouble to our arrival in camp. He acts as the best guide, so you see and experience the very best of Omani hospitality. Rasheed manages the business and Hamid runs the camp very well to maken sure our desert experience is unique. We were lucky to have the whole desert camp to ourselves for the two nights, so we enjoyed private sundowners and stargazing without any interruptions! prompt morning pick-ups took us to a delicious breakfast in the main Nomandic camp. The whole camp has been thoughtfully designed to fit into the landscape with a totally natural feel. The tents are lined in colourful carpets to retain local design feel and comfortable beds. The camp is unique in every way and well worth the adventure. It is completely authentic. The whole team speak excellent english and Abdullah has a terrific sense of humour. We could not recommend a stay there more highly.

Outdoor dining is also possible at the luxury tent. Great place, nice atmosphere. The tent is big and clean, food is excellent and the activities very entertaining. The best words for the owner, very patient and very funny.

You can play darts at the luxury tent. Alsarmadi Desert Camp has a children's playground and a picnic area. It was our anniversary and my husband and I both agreed that it was the best choice if you are seeking exceptional service with a personalized touch and peaceful, remote surroundings. Al Faruq (not sure of the spelling) was a wonderful host and met us punctually at the pick-up point and guided us into the desert. Upon arrival, we were treated to cold grape juice, dates, and Omani coffee in a spacious reception tent. Our tent was clean and tastefully decorated. We were invited over for a lovely evening meal where we took turns making bread over the coals and finished off dinner with a delicious cinnamon tea. It is of special note that the camp is run solely by solar power, the meals were prepared in excellent fashion by the men on staff and should you choose, camels and sleds are available for recreation. For us, being situated high up on the dunes, sitting on the sands, with gorgeous views of sunset, stars, and sand as far as the eye could see, was the best!

Oman desert private camp is situated 10 km in the desert at the top of one of the highest dunes at the area.

Its a luxury tent and consist of 2 floors . There is a balcony and a dining table in each tent. Each tent have a private bathroom. The location of this camp is absolutely perfect being so secluded. I stayed for two nights and really enjoyed everything. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a nice and quiet experience in the desert. They’ll send you a message the day before arrival with a meeting point (Google Oman Desert Private Camp Station) and time. From there you can either ride with them (15omr for two ways) or follow them in your own 4x4. There’s no wifi in the camp but there is 4g.

Buffet and continental breakfast options with local specialities, pancakes and fruits are available each morning at the luxury tent. We really enjoyed this camp; it's new, clean, and cozy. The food was delicious, and we appreciated the peaceful location, perfect for watching sunsets and stars. Private excursions can be arranged, and we highly recommend the day trip to Wadi Bani Khalid oasis. Thumbs up!

We were traveling in two families - 4 adults and 3 kids - and Desert Star Team did an amazing job to assure exceptional service during our stay in a truly authentic desert camping experience.
