Looking for a capsule hotel?

Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.

Our room, almost an apartment, was very convenient and spacious, decorated in a modern urban chic way. We just loved it! We also loved the location, very close to the centre, but away from the traffic noise. The people at the reception friendly, smiling, and helpful to everything we needed. We are definitely going to visit it again in the future!

The breakfast was excellent - a greek salad, an omelette, lots of pastries, honey/chocolate cream/jam/coffee/juice/cereal, etc. Very convenient and stylish shower. Comfy beds. Close to the very heart of the centre, Elevator, which is is a must for elderly people (my mum). Helpful friendly stuff.

For young person on tight budget and happy to forego frills this is a reasonable option in very convenient location near main sights. Very clean though shouldn't bank on air-con working.

The hotel offers amazing views over the city and the area, the food in the restaurant was great, friendly and helpfull staff. There's plenty of free parking on the streets around, so it is convenient to go there by car.

Staff very friendly, everywhere very clean. We had a suite, 2 queen size beds and a jacuzzi bath. Heaven!!! Private underground parking available for a supplement, very useful. Not the cheapest of hotels but well worth the money. About a 20 minute walk to the seafront. Excellent buffet breakfast , lots of choice. Bar prices good value. The highlight was the rooftop pool was not meant to open until mid May but was open! So lovely to relax and swim after sightseeing. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

In the best part of Thessaloniki-Ladadika. Location is good for business, shopping, sightseeing and night life. Apartment/studio is clean and cosy, very convenient for modest people. Nice and friendly neighborhood. Everybody I've ask for something were helpful. Near by, in Leontos Sofou street, (5 min walk)there is parking place, 12e per day; thats cheaper than others. In Viktoros Ougko street (5 min walk) the best giro in Thessaloniki. I'll be back again, thats for sure.
