Honestly was probably our best stay in Sri Lanka. In the past we ran out into an issue that reviews/photos on booking don't reflect the reality but not in this case. The property looks better in reality. Super clean and we had everything we needed and staff was so helpful. It is a 10 minutes drive from the beach but you can rent a scooter from the property. And it is super quiet, we had such a relaxing time having breakfast with squirrels and birds. The villa was build by the owner family and you can tell that they are proud of their work and they maintain it very well. Overall, amazing, book there you won't regret it.

Property is on a hill (road is bumpy so take it easy when you drive there) and the cabin is in the backyard of the owners' family house. It's completely private though, you're surrounded by trees, birds, frogs and monkeys. You´re staying with his parents which makes it a great homestay experience, she made us a delicious rice and curry with fish the father had caught that day. The hut is simple, but really nice, we didn´t need anything else. It´s 10 minutes from the beach so you don´t hear the pounding beats that much, although on Saturday night we did hear them (but I guess that´s everywhere in Mirissa). Even though it is a basic wooden hut, you can feel it was built with the good heart and intention. It has a very nice vibe, comfy bed, it is clean and very close to the beach. Extra bonus is Ishan's care and great homemade dishes cooked by his mum. If you enjoy staying with the locals, for sure try this out! :)

There is no front reception as such and it’s run by the restaurant staff. Food was good and best thing was you could have your breakfast any time of day. It was limited menu but very filling. The host is super friendly and told us about the most intersting places in Mirissa while we enjoyed a nice welcome drink. Trust his food suggestion, you won‘t be dissapointed! The rooms were comfortable and clean. Big plus is a shower cabin. The most amazing thing was the breakfast we shared with a chipmunk while we had a fantastic view of the sea. Didn’t use the pool but looked decent. Restaursnt was shut but they made us breakfast and sourced drinks for us in the evening which was kind. The views from the restaurant were stunning on the cliffs edge looking out to sea. No sunset at this time of year but would be incredible when there is.
