Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

While the cabin/unit looks a little quaint on the outside; inside is mostly modern, all clean and very comfortable. Lots of kitchen items that work well with the 2 burner hotplate and microwave. The full sized fridge was appreciated. $4 for a load of washing at the park laundry room suited too. Lots to see in the local area.

I was self sufficient for breakfast provisions and preparation in ‘the log cabin’ (unit 7 which can sleep 5) having bought my own porridge mix from Australia. The kettle, toaster and microwave were ‘as new’. There was also a portable, electric hob with two hot plates. A COUNTDOWN store is 15 minutes walk away along Putiki Drive and the Whanganui River, and then a hop, step and a jump once across the City Bridge at the end of Victoria Avenue.
