Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

I have travelled the world, staying in everything from tents and thatched huts to 5 star hotels and I honestly feel that Braemar House is the loveliest, most comfortable and friendliest place I've ever stayed. I loved it ! The architecture, garden and interior are historical, elegant and very well maintained. The kitchen is well equiped and it was nice to meet travellers of all ages from all over the world.

They had a boat ramp right by our cabin, we had just done a 6 day trip from Taumarunui and the weather was cooler this day so was a great sight to see. Easy access to unload our gear and get to the shower for a well deserved hot shower.
