I needed a break in a quiet, secluded place, and Afya Village was exactly what I was looking for. It's in the northernmost part of Michamvi, in a cove of its own that almost disappears during high tide, and it is far enough from the noise of the main Michamvi beach or other locations in Zanzibar. The room was well-equipped and spacious enough, and the bed was comfy. The breakfast is superb, and all the food I had was delicious, well prepared. Last but not least, all staff was nice and helpful, easy-going.

Kae Funk Beach Bar and Mangroves Sunset Beach Bar are within short beach walk distance. Lovely and charmingly furnished and operated by a very friendly and welcoming host. Nice and helpful staff. Everything about this lodge was amazing! The area was beautiful. The rooms were simple but nice with a lot of space. The gardens were very pretty and the pool was really refreshing in the evenings. You could hear all the wildlife from bed at night. I didn't walk anywhere, but it was possible to walk/bike to the nearby beaches. The lodge was able to drive us for a cheap price to wherever we wanted to go. They also organized snorkeling trips and boat rides. Plus, I got a free tour when I arrived. I only ate at the lodge and it was perfect. Nice breakfast with fresh fruit. I loved the staff! So friendly. They even brought me fresh cut aloe for my sunburns.
