It was our first encounter with SriLanka and the German owners Edna and Alli made us feel home immediately and within no time we felt a deep sense of location and understanding of the lush environment. The lodge is based on true passion and it shows. In the people and community, the amazing local vegetarian food, the comfortable accommodation and all the activities we were able to engage in at the spur of the moment. Hiking through the rainforest and vegetation of the lodge, tasting directly from a cinnamon plant and watching pepper grow, meeting locals as they carry down the harvested tea leaves, a sunrise bike tour through hidden villages, another sunrise canyoning trip down a deserted river with the occasional local fetching sand from the river bottom, then an aryuveda massage and morning and evening aerial or hatha yoga lessons again right at the property. We felt truly part of the family and have been able to experience so much in four days. Thank you Edna and Alli for sharing your amazing life with us. We will be back and will recommend your lodge to everyone.

We even prolonged our stay. The place is beautiful - design, swimming pool, nature. You really can feel the surrounding nature, but at the same time very safe. The special thing is awesome breakfast served. Many thanks to the host - Nuwan, who really cares about his guests. He spent a lot of time with us, telling interesting things about his country, helping with some shopping & transport. We even made our own spice to take home with us and went to night crabs hunting on the beach !!!
Our host is very friendly and kind. The Cabin ist very cute and clean also the location is very quiet.
Nice place, New cabins. Great food!
Worst place. rude staff. Horrible experience . They accepted my booking. It was a heavy rainy night. Once i reached the property. It was around 6-7 pm. They shut the place, I saw the lights being turned off after me calling for someone. Probably they did not have any other guest.
- Hotel infrastructure is new and very carefully and lovingly maintained - The staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive and caring. It feels like home - Restaurant offers a wide variety of cuisine, whenever buffet is offered, with ample vegetarian options. - Rooms are massive with beautifully interiors, and balcony facing the Indian Ocean. NOTE: you are very close to the sea. If you have problems with the sound of waves, you will have to shut the balcony door at night
This place is amazing; very comfortable, spacious rooms, excellent food (especially the vegetarian rice&curry with mango chutney) and such nice and friendly people - especially Kiran :) Just a few steps from the astonishing beach!
This place is a little gem. I enjoyed my stay at The tree of life resort. I was well taken care of by all the staff. The room was comfy, clean and stylish. The food was delicious and the pool was refreshing. This resort would suit groups. You could easily book the whole resort out as it only has 6 chalets. I totally recommend this place, and I'm looking forward to returning.
Food was good and well presented. However, noticed that the leftover food from the dinner is reused for breakfast. Traditional Sinhalese food are all were fab. However, traditional Tamil food such as dosa, sambar and chutney are nowhere close to what it should be. They should take this items out of the menu unless they find a chef to make them properly. Loved the omlette bar and kottu bar. They had a wide variety of food to choose from.
The room was big, but dark. You may open window shutters but it will become hot as there are no windowpanes. Breakfast was very good. There is a very big and nice swimming pool. I didn't like the location itself as it seems it doesn't offer basically any good dinner options in the close neighbourhood. The hotel offers a dinner option but in my option it is quite expensive, 10USD per person might be too much if you want to eat there every day. In general, very good but in my opinion too expensive for what it offers.
Superb breakfast and the hotel staff were amazing and they were so welcoming. The receptionist even upgraded our room to a beach chalet free of charge. This was a surprise and we loved that chalet room right next to the sea. Love the shower room without a roof. Very unusual. We only stayed one night en-route to Passikuda. We wish we stayed in Trinco BLu a little longer/few more days. Definitely will come back.
