Lovely rustic cabin on the edge of one of the main lakes (tanks) of the island. Convenient for the local cultural ruins and the town. Charming and helpful host looked after us and provided an excellent breakfast. He even can provide bicycles to help you get around.

The location directly next to the lake, away from the busy and noisy city. Nice to have a own cabin and terrace with view on the lake. Bikes could be provided, ideal to drive to the ancient city. Host was very friendly and helpfull.

This cabin looks straight onto a National Park, and we were lucky enough to see lots of bird species and – around 8pm – some elephants at the edge of the lake. We were able to hire bikes from the host to cycle the short distance to Polonnaruwa, and as it was so close we arrived well ahead of the crowds. We chose the banana pancakes for breakfast, which were very nice. We were able to leave our bags after check out time, which was very helpful.

I loved this cabin: it's cozy and clean and has a wonderful veranda overlooking the lake. The owner is very helpful and serves a great dinner and breakfast

We were very happy that we have chosen clay Hut village! The owners are son and mother. The big advantage is, if you visit the Ancient city per bike, you can just exit from a gate near by and have some siesta. The home cooked dinner was extraordinary! The son can speak very good English. Don't miss to swim at the nearby water channel as the locals do.

The two available cabins are right on the banks of Topa Wewa (reservoire); from the little porch you have a wonderful view across the water - and if you are lucky - which we weren’t - you can spot elephants. The ancient city with its magnificent ruins as well as Polonnaruwa centre are not far away; rent the bikes. The host is very kind, he arranged all our tours and took us on a great hiking experience on Dambulagala mountain. The breakfast was delicous; for dinner you can order food from a local kitchen/restaurant.

We really loved our stay at Lake cabin. The rooms are very clean and the outdoor area is outstanding! The place is a haven on earth. If you like Nature...this is the place for you.Simple but sparkling clean rooms. The breakfast is amazing, and they will make sure to offer the best way you prefer your breakfast to be. Sanka is such a sweet person. He is very professional and took care of us during our short stay in any aspect! I hope I will return to Polonnaruwa and to Lake Cabin soon.
