A beautiful setting in an affluent, serene area of Sassenheim. We had the Loft apartment at the side of the house, opposite an ancient ruined castle, overlooking a quiet waterway. Cosy, romantic and cottage-like. A private (if teeny) sauna & toilet on entering the front door. At the top a little kitchenette with French doors onto a small sun terrace over the canal. Room to lay outside on loungers when sunny, or just sit and relax. Very private, quiet and calm. A large bed squeezed into a space opposite a basin & shower. Cosy, quiet & comfortable, with Netflix freely available. Annemiek, the owner, was just lovely. We hired the (top quality) e-bikes for 2 days which were excellent, well worth paying 3x the cost of ‘City bikes’ and made hilly coastal dune cycling against gale winds a piece of cake. The bikes virtually rode themselves!

Great location for visiting the Netherlands. A large garden area, a great window view. The little extras such as a packet of biscuits, wine, beer, orange juice and fresh flowers just added to the overall great experience. Many lovely details like pictures, cactus-like lamp etc.

The Outpost Lakehouse- enjoy our house at Reeuwijkse Plassen - near Gouda is set 3 km from Gouda, located on the riverbank and offers water sports facilities and a terrace. The host - Jos came in person, gave great information and recommendations. He left us Strop waffles and cheese, some beer and soft drinks in the fridge - super great welcome! The view is just superb... and the location is perfect to go around. The house is small but on one floor which is an advantage especially in the Netherlands when stairs are sometimes very stiff... The dishes are also great quality and you are not missing anything.
