Located on a 15-acre operational farm, Tanzanice Farm Lodge offers accommodation within 4 km of the town of Karatu. The Lodoare Gate into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is 12 km from the property. Staffs are super friendly and their foods are simple but very good! All vegetables and fruits are from their own organic farm, and they taste stong and tasty.They are highly eco-conscious, which gave me a nice feeling. All solar-powered. Great breakfast as well. When we were the only guests to have lunch, the chef composed our menu with us - The view on the lake and the environment are amazing. We did a nice walk along the lake and saw some animals like impalas, monkeys, birds etc. We even saw a big group of wildebeests just passing down our plunge pool! - I have to finish with what impressed us the most, which was the staff, always nearby but discreet, ready to answer all needs of the guests, they always made sure we were comfortable. The property was exceptional with amazing landscaping, facilities and five star hospitality. The staff were warm and welcoming. I will not hesitate to recommend The Retreat to anyone who is visiting Karatu or Ngorongoro Crater.

Walking out to the view and enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning was amazing. The staff were very nice and the food was delicious.

This was so wonderful we stayed an extra night. The staff was extremely accommodating. We had our clothes washed as well as our car while we were here. Our room was of sufficient size with a beautiful covered sitting area outside. Our meals were well prepared and delicious. The creamy soups were especially creative and tasty. The evenings were a bit chilly. Upon retiring to bed after dinner we found hot water bottles under our blankets. The beds were very comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and our room was bug free. Wi-Fi was good but only in the dining/lounge area.
