The dinner and breakfast were just perfect. Very hearty and one could feel it was made with love and passion. The breakfast was incredible and all the products (8 different types of marmellade, super tasty honey, butter and cheeses, eggs, blueberry juice, tea and milk) were made by the family and from local farmers.

We have booked the superior villa (including 2 bedrooms) and got confirmation from booking.com . we have tried many different ways to contact them, but they were not reachable. When we arrived there, they just told us the villa was occupied by other guests. What they can offer us was very small room 60€ for 4 of us.

The location of this little village is spectacular. The narrow road, leading off the main tarmac road and to the small village, is somewhat precarious for a weak-hearted driver but the scenery along the canyon is breath-taking. The hotel is basically a family home and the guest bedrooms are on the second floor, with the rest of the facilities being shared with the hosts. The hosts, husband and wife, are very friendly and welcoming and will offer you whatever they have available to make you feel at home: their home-made food, such as cheese and polenta bread, locally caught fish. We saw their goats and two little kids, newly born. We managed to communicate with a bit of English and Serbo-Croat which the hosts can speak. During our three-night stay there, we went for long walks/hikes around the area, one of them led by the Lucia, the host, who offered kindly to take us up the rocky cliff nearby from where we can see the mountainous landscape in all of its grandeur. The village of Niks is another pleasant 3-4 hour hike towards the mountains where the dirt road loops around and comes back. We highly recommend a visit to the place. We were there in February when the land is still quite bare but when spring is in full swing, the hosts tell us the place looks much greener and full of colour. The pictures for the property do not do full justice to the beauty of the location.
