We were only passing through on a road trip, so arrived late in the afternoon and left early the next day.
It was a Saturday afternoon so all the shops were closed, but we drove around town to check it out.
Went down to Graham Andrews Park to sit on the Big Red Bench Chair and walked around the park also saw the Vortex Rain Urn.
For dinner we went to the RSL very nice and our meal was perfect.
Went over to the information centre (Charleville Railway Station) and the staff there were very bubbly, friendly and helpful. Plus you can get a free coffee while there.
Checked out the water tower art work

I was returning for a visit to where I was born & lived. I would recommend going to see the Bilbies, Cosmos Centre, Historic House Museum & the Flying Doctors centre. You can also do the river walk. Very easy to walk everywhere if you want.
The best place we found to eat was Bones & Nikki's Turckerbox, The best hamburgers & the prices are great.
Just take your time to look around. I found a great please to shop which is the Made in Murweh. Just support the locals the best you can while you are there

We only stayed one night in Charleville.
We only stayed one night in Charleville. We traveled onwards further north; could top up some groceries from the local IGA shop.
We also enjoyed the local RSL Club for a drink and a meal and can highly recommend it!

We only stayed one night but could have found plenty to occupy a longer stay and will definitely be back. We visited the Cosmos Centre for the night tour. Guides were so helpful and informative and telescopes were excellent for viewing the stars and full moon. Well worth a visit. Also visited the information centre for information on our next trip and staff were extremely helpful.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Tourist facilities and attractions excellent. We travelled on the train from Brisbane staying 2 nights in Charleville before taking the return trip. Loved the train trip but you do need to hire a car to get around town-Tony from Hertz was so accommodating. Loved the WW11 Tag-Along tour-Luke made the tour so interesting.
The hotel was located in the centre of town. The building is an historical site and very interesting to learn more about it. The building was amazing with the grand cedar staircase going up to the 2nd level. The glass doors from the rooms lead out to the large huge verandah where you could sit and enjoy the view having a cold drink.
The hotel is pretty typical of a historical old country hotel , the room was clean and basic , with a comfortable bed and bathroom , a bit noisy from the street but that was not their fault! It was a shame the dining room was closed when we travelled and only bar meals available but not a deal breaker !
The room was very roomy and clean. Everything we needed was supplied. Under cover parking was a bonus. The motel is so central to everywhere we went. We enjoyed our stay and will be coming back next time. We would highly recommend the Cosmos Motel to anyone wanting to stay in Charleville.
However having said the negatives, we did have a balcony view and that made up for the noise. It is a great pub with great atmosphere, friendly staff and awesome food. Definately worth a stay for the historical value, upstairs has lots of goodies to see.
I arrived early and the owner was very accomodating for me. The swimming pool was just so welcoming after a long drive, warm day Room was very comfortable and i thorougly enjoyed my visit. Very handy and walking distance to shops / pub for meals etc.
It was more than expected being an old historic hotel, I was please we could have a private bathroom. Having the historic display was a lovely bonus.Loved the big veranda outside the room.Food at the hotel was very good, staff where helpful and happy.
Nice fresh rooms with adequate space. also heaps of room for parking. I didn’t really have time to enjoy the facilities however will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Charleville.
Modern, comfortable motel with ample parking, well-tended to gardens and excellent swimming pool. Well situated in the centre of Charleville (opposite the railway station).
basic but very comfortable; convenient walking distance to town centre, hotels, restaurant, railway station and information centre plus Bilby exhibition
