Eungella is a very special place and it needs to be protected from development and any Hydro scheme. Places like this are sacred and the wildlife is unique, it cannot be spoiled. I wish I could live there.

We hit it on a very wet weekend which limited our enjoyment of the area. The proximity to Broken River was great and we were all able to watch a Platypus enjoying the river (just awesome). There was ample cooking facilities and we had no issue there. The Bar stools at the servery to the kitchen was the only area to eat our meals as the front patio was unable to be used as it was more than just wet is was windy with rain constantly blowing into the seating and table area. We had a glimpse of the mountains on day 2 when there was a short reprieve from the mist and rain and on any other weekend this could have been an awesome stay. We drove to the Dam for a day out and it was a fun drive (be it still very wet). Eungella is a lovely peaceful place and the cabins provide the opportunity to relax and enjoy it. The proximity also to the Chalet was great as we use the Chalet restaurant as out primary evening meal spot. We practically had the place to ourselves due to the weather and had a lovely time. We also had a meal at Broken River and thoroughly enjoyed the burgers, waffles, milkshakes and coffee before hitting the paths to see the Platypus.

The pub and accommodation is really run down but the rainforest experience and the wildlife experiences are great. The pub was good for meals but in general there’s not much options. With the number of tourists one would think some money could be injected into the place as there’s huge potential.

Great bush walks of all lengths. Beautiful scenery.

Great bush walks of all lengths. Beautiful scenery. Magnificent rainforest. Chance to get up close with Australian native animals in their natural habitat. Watch out for ticks though! We all got at least one on our walks.

We went for the hiking and were not disappointed! The tracks were easy to follow - you could choose to make it a short or long hike. The weather was amazing at this time of year - not too cool and not too hot - just right!

Loved the views, walking in the rainforest, spotlighting for wildlife at night with Myles from the Broken River Mountain Lodge, a bottle of wine on the banks of the Broken River, abundant birdlife and of course seeing the platypus.
