We liked the national park & the sunset trip to the wall of china. We ate in the Mungo Lodge dining room but this dining room needs some better decor that would encourage guests to mingle more. Everyone ate their dinner but didn't linger to chat afterwards as we felt discouraged because the fireplace was not lit. We felt that the staff wanted us out asap.We realise its hard to get staff but if it was more welcoming then I think they would get more travellers to stay at the lodge. 2 nights stay is plenty.

the customer service was superb from arrival till departure, first class. The restaurant was very good again with good food and excellent service. The tour with Steve to the walls of China was very informative and interesting. The cabin could have done with a few repairs eg fix curtains and maybe a bit more dusting in corners, yet very comfortable . Aircon effective and not noisy. Highly recommend!

Lake Mungo is an inspiring place with brilliant colours, fascinating history and geology and a must for all who enjoy nature and culture. The lunettes are under threat from advancing sand and erosion and must be preserved for future generations. It is after all our heritage.

Extraordinary to experience the ancient landscape of Mungo.

Extraordinary to experience the ancient landscape of Mungo. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and the food was pretty good particularly in such a remote location. We enjoyed the sunset tour of the lunette but would have loved to do the tour with an Aboriginal guide via the Visitor Centre. Sadly booked out. We spent a full day driving around the park, and particularly enjoyed the Mallee walk and sense of space. Wonderful skies and the cleanest air during our winter visit.
