Sommers Bay Beach House, hotel in Murdunna

Set in Murdunna, 700 metres from Sommers Beach and 36 km from Port Arthur, Sommers Bay Beach House offers barbecue facilities and air conditioning.

It’s so nice to find a property that is dog friendly. My little 13 yr old boy goes everywhere with us. He has his own bed on the floor and sleeps beside me. Also when you work long hours you just need a break from it all. Sommers Bay Beach House ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️is the place to be.!

So peaceful and scenic beaches nearby with a local gin tasting shack right by the beach only a few minutes drive away from our accomodation. It is the gateway to some amazing iconic locations such as the Devils Kitchen, Pirate Bay and of course, Port Arthur. The scenery is amazing from the sea views and beaches to the countryside vistas. Well worth the visit.

    Scenery was fantastic.

Scenery was fantastic. The locals were very friendly, happy to talk and there appears to be a sense of 'community'. Would be an excellent spot to retire. A boat is a 'must-have' to explore and make full use of what the area has to offer. Pity there are not a few more sandy beaches.

    Great holiday property.

Great holiday property. Owners very easy to contact and helpful. Teenagers enjoyed the place and surrounding community. The shop at the turnoff stocks everything 😊the middle bedroom doesn’t have an outside window. An easy holiday home.

The Murdunna Roadhouse is great with its mini-supermarket (with some fresh fruit and veg) and its specialty cheeses, processed meats, jams and honey. Best of the hot takeaway food is the Curried Scallops Pie - yum! Murdunna is a scenic central place to stay with easy access to the tourist spots around Port Arthur.

I loved seeing a whale there in the water.probably great if you have pets we didn't. I didn't like the towels they were very worn out and I went and bought some new ones for my family to use. The hot water ran out in 10 mins and took a couple of hours to warm up again. The beds were hard and very old. No light on veranda. Blankets were all not cleaned I seen hair on them. Fridge noisy. Shower mouldy around seals. Exhaust fan in bathroom very full dust.
