As I was pulling up to the Grand TIMES Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised, as I never realized that facility even existed in Drummondville....where I drive by every two months or so.
And frankly, I was going to give it top-ratings, until I walked into the room in total darkness....one hand dragging my suitcase/briefcase, the other fumbling for a light-switch (any light-switch at this point!)....nothing to the right, nothing to the left, high-ceiling prevented me to attempt finding a switch up there....lol....I didn't dare walking too far into the room, lest i stumble over some furntiture. Flicking on the cell flashlight did help somewhat....I now identified a large dark-brown(open) door leading to the bathroom; followed by a dark-brown wall, around the corner of which I found a light-switch (dark-brown housing with a grey switch). This lit up the room acceptably.
But the switch which one would expect to find close to the entrance door inside, was in fact hidden behind the open bathroom door, so as to make it absolutely impossible to find it! (which ever interior designer thought of this, should be hung from the rafters, tarred & feathered!)
The rest of the evening was actually quite pleasant. I was accorded a room on the 9th floor, with large floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows affording a great view over the town. (both at night, as well as the following morning....brownie points).
The king-bed is huge with plenty of comfortable pillows. The work-desk along one wall is just deep enough for a lap-top (but I guess younger guests tend to sit on the rocking arm-chair or the bed...so that would not be an issue for them). The office chair was very comfy and held the air-suspension quite well.
The bathroom is well appointed, but beware if you're flat-footed....the hotel does not supply rubber-mats for the shower-floor, and that becomes a very slippery proposition..

Great place to stay, however I was very disappointed that the TV service did not include sports Stations. Could not watch Canada’s baseball team. This would be a “show stopper “ for me to stay there again.

I like Drummondville and surroundings.
I like Drummondville and surroundings. Very busy business town as it's just on the highway Montreal- Quebec. Easy access to everything. Nice hotels and nice city-center with a lot of good restaurants. Of course better if you know locals. I like LA CAGE, as a European traveler it's a crazy place, nice food, nice staff, you meet every day some-one new.. if you are as talkative enough like me... and it's full of TV screens (big ones) where SPORTS are number one, Ice -Hockey all over the place. Good, Cool and place that I will visit often while being in QC.

People are very friendly and everyone we encountered was bilingual which made it much more comfortable for us. (Who aren't). Tons of shopping close by and right of the highway. Great overnight choice for us.

We were given a room that had a very strong smoke odour.
We were given a room that had a very strong smoke odour. Request a other room but none was available. We were told no smoking allowed in the rooms but obviously it happened. Will not stay their again.
The A/C was not working and it was super humid and hot that day, so we basically managed to get some sleep near the open window around 4am with some cool breeze. The water in a toilet was constantly flowing so the noise was kind of annoying (but mostly due to us being tired and warm. A/C would have made us feel less annoyed, I’m sure). Also the freezer in the fridge needed defrosting (our portable fridge icepacks couldn’t fit - but that wasnt really a trouble just you know, could have been better).
Just past the eastbound Montreal traffic, I happened to find this absolutely fabulous hotel!? Absolutely everything is worth the slightly higher price! The modern rooms are well laid out , the staff so accomodating and, the breakfast fantabulous, I'll go out of my way to stay there again!
Very nice modern hotel with stain free premium rooms.
Quiet HVAC system compared to standard hotels/motels.
Big windows with drapes that block most of the light.
Very clean. Custom design features throughout the hotel.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was great, bathroom had everything we needed. We even did our laundry in the hotel laundry facilities at no charge -a great perk when travelling by bicycle!
The hotel room was well equipped and clean. This was a budget hotel, and therefore fairly priced. The breakfast, although basic, was adequate and as described. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This hotel is amazing. I loved the pool area and the top floor breakfast area with floor to ceiling windows with a 270 degree city view from 12 floors up.
Very comfy beds and lovely decor.
Loved the check in and check out. Location of hotel is fantastic. Dining and shopping options very close by and plentiful. Globe Trotter dining was superb with A1 staff.
The location was good for us as we were just passing through on a road trip, returning to Ontario from New Brunswick, and needed a place to stay near the highway.
