The room we got was very out of date and the bathroom size was very small. A lovely lady in the breakfast lounge served a cake for husbands birthday which was a nice surprise. All I can say I expected our room to be more modern

I was very happy with my stay at Hotel Alpina. The owner Richard was very easygoing, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was perfect, good variety, they make eggs however way you want them. The room is a good size with a comfy bed. And for my room 201 the bathroom was renovated and very nicely done. I even got a partial view of the lake from my room. The attention to detail throughout the hotel made it so funky yet so cozy. I would definitely stay there again. There’s also a beautiful pathway from the hotel that takes you directly parallel to the lake and a little waterfall

A good place to base ourselves for a short stay. We walked along Wanderweg paths following the river into Interlaken. A very pleasant walk 👍 Would be a good base for exploring the Brienz Interlaken Grindelwald area by motorcycle, or car, or local buses and trains.

It was so clean and feels like home. We cooked dinner and breakfast with ease. Complete with coffee pods and basic condiments. Recommended for you next travel. We really enjoyed our stay. We went winter and bus run every hour. No problem for us as we only need to take that bus once. You can opt to wlk for 22 mins to interlaken ost. The bathroom has no lock again no problem for us as we are family. We just knock before entering. Maybe the only problem we had was throwing rubbish away. Quite confusing where to put it

I went trekking between Iseltwald and Giessbach.
I went trekking between Iseltwald and Giessbach. It was 1.5 hours long but can be completed within 1 hour. Good exercise. I had lunch at the bottom of the Giessbach waterfalls and it was great. It's not suitable for a picnic basket, but a small lunch and drink would be perfect. Do pick up your trash and take them with you when you leave. If you can't, please don't eat there. It was good to take the bus, hike and then the ferry back to Bonigen. Do try multiple transportations.EllenNetherlands - 10Scored 10

Right on the lake for the views and a summertime dip after a long day. A bit of a trek into Interlaken but far enough away so as not to get too busy with tourists. Boenigen is the quiet neighbour of Interlaken & all the better for it. Excellent centre for travelling the local area or just about anywhere in Switzerland. Had a day on the Glacier Express from Brig to Chur! A definite must on any holiday.

The hotel was off season I believe but had a lovely dinner at request. I had to leave early to catch my train and the owner organized a lunch bag for my long train trip. I would highly recommend and definitely will stay here again. I had a room with a view of the lake and the mountains. Was so amazing to wake up to this very morning. The restaurant is excellent and the servers professional. (Jennifer was also hysterically funny.) The bus to Interlaken was right out front as well as the boat ride around the lake. Comfortable beds that are able to be raised at the head for reading. Deep, deep bathtub!

The single room was although dated but clean, and really good value for money for solo traveller like myself. The staff were friendly and hospitable, and even allowed me to check in earlier as my room was available. Breakfast was simple but I really enjoyed eating on the terrace with the fantastic view!

Bonigen is a beautiful and quiet town close to Interlaken. Kim is very kind to prepare the guidance book for guests to find everything. She also gave Interlaken travel tickets for the buses.
