We only stayed overnight and didn't do any visits, because we were on our way home from holidays in Italy. So we can't really comment on Porrentruy, we only drove through it, but it looked like a nice small town.

Porrentruy is a small history city in a far-flung corner of Switzerland which has put a lot of resources in renovation and upgrading over the last 20 years. And they are still at it. Just recently, the main street was repaved with cobblestones. There are a castle, loads of beautiful historic buildings in the centre and extravagant turn-of-the century villas in the closer outskirts of town.
Porrentruy has become a very loveable small town in Switzerland. with an unusual number of bars and restaurants, some of which are surprisingly lively for such a small town.
Porrentruy makes for a great base to explore the Jura region!

Porrentruy is a secrect jewel of Switzerland.
Quality of life is fantastic, people are welcoming and cool, food is awesome (well with the disclaimer that it's better to eat pork), the city is lovely and it offers a lot of activities (city + Ajoie/Jura area).
Very strongly recommend for a week-end or vacation.
The fantastic location inside a 500-year old tower. The studio has all you need for a short stay: well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, clean and practical shower and wc room, views on two sides of the old town. Free parking a few hundred metres away. Helpful and friendly owner. And the delight of stepping out into historical Porrentruy early on a Saturday morning for a coffee in the market was awesome. Un bijou !
I spend 2 nights in this hotel for biking around. Lacotion is amazing, in the center of the old city, nearly with old castle and many restaurants. Nice clean room and very good bed! I like very much that the hotel is old style. It added the athmoshere! Free of charge official parking exactly close to the hotel (white zone) from evening Saturday till morning Monday!

Room was clean and bed was very comfortable
The quality, comfort and modernity of the accommodation; the friendly welcome; the good kitchen; and the use of the swimming pool, much appreciated after a long, hot drive.
Porrentruy is also a beautiful, historic town that we explored the following morning.
