It is a very nice area to explore with many ancient and new Tulou's, round and square. Personally I would not go to the tourist hot-spots, like the "king" of tulou, crazy busy. Ask your local hotel owner for good more quiet spots.

If you are looking for luxury accommodations, don't go there But if you want to experience rural China and family life then this is the place for you. Clean basic accommodations- our room with shower was comfortable and very adequate for the two nights that we spent there. Extensive hakka menu which we enjoyed. Very welcoming and unpretentious people-really good.people. Ming our driver was very reliable and know s all the good sites to visit.
