Los Mineros Guesthouse, hotel in Dos Brazos

Los Mineros Guesthouse is located in Dos Brazos del Rio Tigre, 50m from Corcovado National Park entrance and 13 km from Puerto Jiménez. It is set in beautiful gardens which can be seen from the rooms....

Being directly around the forest + the pool to cool down, where you can spot monkeys. The place in itself has a lot potential but needs some work to reach it

Albergue La Laguna, hotel in Dos Brazos

Providing garden views, Albergue La Laguna in Puerto Jiménez provides accommodation and a garden. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available.

Location of Albergue La Laguna is great for nature and bird lovers. Lodge is quite simple but beds were comfy, clean and there were no insects in our rooms. Lodge is surrounded by nature - lagoon, forest, meadows. There are only 4 rooms and there is huge space with hammocks, tables, armchairs to relax. Staff was very friendly and they offered tasty breakfast at reasonable price. It was one of 2-3 greatest accomodation during our month stay in Costa Rica. Remote and 4x4 car access only!

Amazonia's Ecolodge is a true Amazon Rainforest Experience.

Amazonia's Ecolodge is a true Amazon Rainforest Experience. Highly recommend a 4WD to get here especially if it is raining. It is a 20 minute drive from Puerto Jimenez and the last section (about half a mile) can be challenging the first time around. The place is quite remote and a fun place to stay if you want to enjoy the rainforest. The cabin we stayed in was located in the rainforest on the edge of the Corcovoda NP. There is a kitchen to cook simple meals. The cabin had a refrigerator as well. You can make your own drip coffee. Meals are offered by the caretaker's family in another house downhill on the property. There is no Wifi available in the cabin but is available at the caretaker's house. Recommend having home cooked meals at the caretaker's place. Good food and friendly folks but none of them speak English. We were able to get by with very little Spanish. A guide is available on request. Guide speaks English and will come to the Ecolodge to arrange and take you on tours. We went on several tours with the local guide and were happy with the service. Saw a lot of frogs on the night walk close to the property. Overall a pleasant and out of the normal experience. If you love to stay and experience the rainforest this is the place.

A gorgeous community that has retained a local Tico feel; expats and tourists are definitely in the minority. I never felt unsafe even walking alone at night. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to walk all the extensive jungle trails in Bolita and the Corcovado National Park. But, those I did walk to led me to magical waterfalls, swimming holes and amazing views. The wildlife is plentiful. I saw 3 of the 4 monkeys that live in Costa Rica and woke in the morning to the sounds of the 4th, the howlers calling in the distance. Toucans, hummingbirds and macaws are everywhere. Not to mention the incredible number of other slightly less showy birds, amphibians, reptiles and insects. Dos Brazos was an incredible find and I will definitely be back.

Dos Brazos is a great place to explore the rainforest. There is a wealth of birds an butterflies. Public transport is limited though so if you are wanting to do activities on the beach or on the sea then maybe Puerto Jimenez is better.

Beautiful place , some awesome walks(check out Ron at the Bolita Rain Forest hostel) . For 10dollars you can walk some of his trails, I would recommend the bonanza trail, but bring some shoes for walking in the river as well as walking shoes It is full of fabulous birds and butterflies If you have no car then you will have to spend a night or two Bring provisions, lovely people but store very basic Bus leaves Puerto Jimenez at 3pm and returns 6.15 am following morning No bus at weekends
