Cham is a good place to go to see historical Regensburg for the whole day, and the other day a historical centre of Cham-Janahof was also nice to go through. The town of Cham looks like a typical Bavarian town, everything very neat, but it does not seem to have very much to offer. Its surroundings are really stunning, with the Bavarian forest and lots of scenic roads nearby.

A hidden gem.
A hidden gem. Quirky streets, great town square with maypole and sculpture, outside cafe/bars and a beautiful church. You enter the town over a bridge though an arch, very picturesque.
