I thought it was very good. it is a proper old style hotel with granite bathrooms, chandeliers etc. but doesn't feel run down. I had to stay here short notice late at night as I didn't reach my final destination due to unreliable trains, but I was welcomed after midnight without any fuss and quickly settled in. the location is spot on right next to the station, and you can walk down to the river to avoid the less than salubrious station area to the east. breakfast was good and included bacon, egg and sausage for the Brits, plus things like decaf tea and lactose free milk for those with preferences - lots for all. I has everything you need, bathrobes, tissues, good quality bathroom condiments. I will stay here again if I get the chance, and overheard it does get repeat visitors.
