Many thanks to Anita and Steve for their hospitality and insight into life in Arboleas. Photographs do not do the accommodation justice - very clean and the apartment is to a very high standard. The plentiful breakfast in the morning was very much appreciated and set us up for a day of sightseeing and house viewing in the area.

We were there for a medical appointment, and as I cannot walk far the Hotel Parrilla was perfect for us. We were not there for touring purposes so I cannot comment about Albox in general, but the Hotel was perfect location

It’s a nice quiet place people very helpful and friendly ”we found “ you definitely need a car if you want to do sightseeing as everything around you involves travelling a fair distance, convenient parking in the town itself is difficult something to think about if you have any walking difficulties, some nice places to sit and have a coffee and just people watch, personally we thought a week would have been enough then maybe a week staying somewhere around the Almeria area would have been nice, but Albox itself has enough shops including a variety of supermarkets including a lovely new Lidl to choose from if your self catering. We were 68 & 70 years of age reasonably fit staying in a self catering Villa.

Albox has everything within the town and area.

Albox has everything within the town and area. History and culture, good restaurants and cafes, most of the major supermarkets, lots of specialist shops, sports, flea markets and many more. The scenery is stunning and not far from both the mountains and the coast. The light quality is excellent hence the nearby space observatory at Calar Alta

I lived near albox 20 years ago. It has changed beyond all recognition, in my opinion not for the better. It is no longer typically spanish, but full of brits with british shops, bars etc. It was nice to catch up with old friends.

The local people are very friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of bars and cafes to eat and drink at too. A lovely place to stay for a few days for a relaxing break. Worth eating at the New Delhi Indian Restaurant and the Elephant Cafe.
