Balneario de Cestona, hotel in Azpeitia

This great spa hotel is housed in a modernist building dating back to the 19th century. The property has preserved it charm, romance and special old-time spa atmosphere.

The spa was a great experience, lovely waterjet massage. The old fashioned grandeur of the hotel is very filmic and cozy

I was just passing by, staying for one night.

I was just passing by, staying for one night. Nevertheless I planned to assess the town as I enjoy the area and have plans to return for some hiking. The town is fairly compact and can easily be visited on foot, featuring an interesting pedestrian area along the river. On the main square I found a very lively youth event with an ongoing football-like match. Beyond this, the brief experience was not the best as I ended on a restaurant that felt to be touristic, with staff that were not particularly welcoming or attentive. The menu was very limited and the food also did not impress. I hope there are other more satisfying options in town.

Wonderful mountain town, lots of history, huge cathedral,...

Wonderful mountain town, lots of history, huge cathedral, really nice people. Amazing views everywhere and easy access to all of the other small villages and towns in the area as well as San Sebastian. Take the small roads along the seashore both south and north of Azpeitia - you will fall in love with the people and the scenery!

It's a lovely villa on the rolling green hills next to Azpeitia. We stayed only one night on our tour and we enjoyed it. It was quiet, the room had the basic necessities and it was clean and the air around there is fresh and pleasant. We also enjoyed a nice view from our room. You can basically walk down the hill from there and get to the village easily if you want but at the same time it's remote enough that traffic or other noises are not an issue.

larranaga is a lovely historic hotel which was so comfortable and spacious. the staff were all really helpful and friendly, despite our lack of local language. the restaurant was very good and breakfast huge and varied. the rooms were amazing, clean and well equipped. The French billiards was fun and the bar area is nice and green, cleverly away from the sawmill. great value for money and a proper family business, which is reflected in the service.

The location in the small town of Azpeitia was ideal for us to discover the Basque Country. Bilbao and San Sebastián are easy to reach by car. The apartment as such is located in a small pedestrian street, with restaurants, bars and shops nearby. It is decorated with a lot of taste and the kitchen is well equipped. And, yes, we can confirm that the beds are really comfortable. The communication with the host was very easy and pleasant. Thank you!

The owner welcomed us nicely, the beds were confy, the shared bathrooms were clean. Served us well! Tip: There's a hidden path to reach Azpeitia on foot without walking along the highway. Climb a bit near the parking lot, go South, leave the dogs to your right, keep climbing South a bit, and keep left at the second fork, when the path is not paved anymore. At the end of the path, you will find a staircase that goes directly to the town.
