Lovely quaint town that instantly brought a sense of calmness, we couldn’t help but feel relaxed. The cafes and restaurants all had a great selection of pinxtos and we had a fantastic dinner in Asador los Nietos on one evening. Briones is a good place to base yourself to tour the wineries but there are also plenty of bodegas in the town, we happened to arrive when a festival was taking place and visited 5 bodegas each with their own tasting seminar. There was live music in the square that evening also and a great buzz about the place. The locals were all friendly and welcoming despite our Spanish not being very good!

The room is spacious and the 200 x 200 bed sleeps amazing. Nice breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. There is a good restaurant inside the hotel, which is convenient if you don’t want to go out and drive. Will definitely come back when we visit La Rioja again.
