There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel. Or 40 minutes late, meaning you missed your connection and then had a wait of 4 hours or return to El Chorro.

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. There are a couple of other interesting walking trails starting in el Chorro. Parking can be a problem.

We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location. We were a group of friends traveling together and stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. The room was totally fine but it would have been good to know before booking that the walls in the unit don’t go all the way to the ceiling (not even the bathroom room ones). The gap is really wide - no privacy possible.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing. We loved it and it’s so accessible from Málaga. The scenery is breathtaking. Walking the Caminito Del Rey is a must if you’re in the area...I was nervous as I don’t like heights but I’m so pleased to have conquered my fears...it was utterly thrilling. The area is packed with things to do and places to see. We’ll be. Back!

El Chorro is a great location to stay if you are doing The Caminito del Rey as it is at the end of the walk and far less busy than Ardales (the starting location). It is also a great base for walking, hiking and climbing. The surrounding mountains and countryside are fabulous and it is definitely worth staying an extra night to enjoy the surrounding areas. The nearby town of Antequera is very interesting and should not be missed whilst you are in the area.

Brilliant central location for all activities in El Chorro. Four bedrooms (2 doubles and 2×4 bunk rooms) and three bathrooms were great for our group of mixed climbing friends. Showers were always hot with a strong pressure. Washing machine and dishwasher were very useful too. The plunge pool was a wonderful way to cool down during the afternoon. Nice large kitchen, wood burning fireplace plus bbq in outside terrace area. Spotlessly clean in a beautifully restored and re jigged traditional regional property. We loved our stay!

The hotel is really well located in El Chorro and has a wonderful restaurant terrace with just an amazing view. Our room was very small and minimalistic but had everything we needed. There are bigger rooms / with better view / with private terrace available, but for us it was just not worth the higher price since there is such a beautiful common terrace and we only stayed for one night. We really enjoyed our stay. Plus: There is free parking on site available! Btw. breakfast is good for a very fair price (big portions!)

A little piece of paradise and place to come back to! We enjoyed our stay at the cortijo sooo much😍 Jacques (the owner) made us feel welcome from the moment of our arrival and we really enjoyed having breakfasts and dinners with him. We had plenty of good laughs. The cortijo itself is a great base for exploring the area around, you can start your hike directly from the doorstep. And if you are in the area for climbing you can walk to different crags as well. We’ll be back!

We booked to do the el caminito del rey hike, so this hotel was the perfect spot to stay. it was also easy to get to other places in the park. Our accommodation was comfortable. And everything was clean when we arrived. Claudio at reception was very friendly and helpful. On our arrival the restaurant was about to close and he arranged for the restaurant to serve us food before closing, which we appreciated. Everyone was super friendly overall.

Jacques is a wonderful host. Everything was better than expected with great view, big private room, property, etc. Breakfast was really special, absolutely delicious! Jacques puts a lot of effort into a nice home cooked spread that I looked forward to every morning. The extra meals are also worth the money! Great community dinner vibes. Honor code for drinks is great as well. Climbing nearby and out in the serene countryside.

We had a lovely stay in a well equipped house right in the middle of El Chorro. The host was incredibly accommodating and flexible making sure we were comfortable, and going above and beyond in his efforts to assist. Communication was very clear, I can't recommend highly enough! Great facilities, washing machine, dishwasher, free coffee, 3 bathrooms and plenty of outdoor space. We look forward to coming back soon!!

For the first time in Spain, the owner of the apartment speaks good English. The room has everything you need to stay. Nearby forest and mountains. Fresh air. Nearby is a mountain for climbers and hikers. If you have a car, then nearby you can visit Malaga, Ronda, Antequera, caves. There are many animals around. We met a fox, a group of wild boars ran near the door of the apartment. We and our dogs was happy !

the pool area and Garden was good for the children, the house was clean and when we had problems they were dealt with very quickly. The wifi is good and the kitchen was quite well stocked. it was not too far away from El Chorro and the Caimito del Rey. Although the roads are a little treacherous. Also we left a computer lead behind and the host was kind enough to arrange for it to be sent to us.

Our host was very friendly and giving. We enjoyed the location and the climbing in the area. Don’t forget to say Hi to Cheesepa the dog (she’s shy but we saw her wag her tail when she thought we weren’t looking) and Looney the cat. loved picking oranges and lemons just outside our door.

Location is good for access to climbing locations. It is right on the road so sometimes it is noisy during the day, especially weekends. At night barking dogs but you can't get away from that in rural Spain.
