Perfect base for my week-long climbing and cycling holiday. Beautiful views from the patio, which is surrounded by amazing birdsong and the scent of citrus flowers. Juan was very nice and helpful. I would definitely book this place again.

What a find! The location was amazing - right at the end of the walk for the Camanito del Rey. The rooms were so comfortable and we had everything we needed to prepare a beautiful evening meal, which we ate on the terrace overlooking the view. Our only regret was we didn't have more time!

very central in Ardales; a total surprise in terms of architecture once you go in a normal building!

There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel.
Or 40 minutes late, meaning you missed your connection and then had a wait of 4 hours or return to El Chorro.

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. There are a couple of other interesting walking trails starting in el Chorro. Parking can be a problem.

We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
We were a group of friends traveling together and stayed in a 2 bedroom unit.
The room was totally fine but it would have been good to know before booking that the walls in the unit don’t go all the way to the ceiling (not even the bathroom room ones). The gap is really wide - no privacy possible.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing.
An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing. We loved it and it’s so accessible from Málaga. The scenery is breathtaking. Walking the Caminito Del Rey is a must if you’re in the area...I was nervous as I don’t like heights but I’m so pleased to have conquered my fears...it was utterly thrilling. The area is packed with things to do and places to see. We’ll be. Back!

El Chorro is a great location to stay if you are doing The Caminito del Rey as it is at the end of the walk and far less busy than Ardales (the starting location). It is also a great base for walking, hiking and climbing. The surrounding mountains and countryside are fabulous and it is definitely worth staying an extra night to enjoy the surrounding areas. The nearby town of Antequera is very interesting and should not be missed whilst you are in the area.
Jacques is a wonderful host. Everything was better than expected with great view, big private room, property, etc. Breakfast was really special, absolutely delicious! Jacques puts a lot of effort into a nice home cooked spread that I looked forward to every morning. The extra meals are also worth the money! Great community dinner vibes. Honor code for drinks is great as well. Climbing nearby and out in the serene countryside.
the pool area and Garden was good for the children, the house was clean and when we had problems they were dealt with very quickly.
The wifi is good and the kitchen was quite well stocked. it was not too far away from El Chorro and the Caimito del Rey. Although the roads are a little treacherous.
Also we left a computer lead behind and the host was kind enough to arrange for it to be sent to us.
Nice community style place. Common kitchen, living room, garden and pool. Lots of climbers and hikers and interesting persons to meet. The owner and the welcome were super nice too. The hamac and the pool were perfect to get rest and refreshment after a long walk. It's also 20min from Caminito del Rei and they accept to prepare you an early breakfast to not leave on an empty stomach.
Perfect , that as soon as off train , hotel is opposite station . Views to caminito spectacular! Beautiful gardens and pool area to chill out . I love the village .the rooms very nice at first but would become difficult for more than one night . Hotel staff all very friendly , and doing a good job . Nearly perfect for how I envisaged the holiday in el chorro acting out ;)
Our host was very friendly and giving. We enjoyed the location and the climbing in the area. Don’t forget to say Hi to Cheesepa the dog (she’s shy but we saw her wag her tail when she thought we weren’t looking) and Looney the cat. loved picking oranges and lemons just outside our door.
Villa is in a nice, quiet location, close to the climbing spots, the Rocca Bella site is trully right above. We madr the fire in the fireplace and heating was provided as well. We also enjoyed the pool and bird watching during the day. Terrasse and grilling place were also perfect.
Very well equipped house, in a pleasant rural location. Conversed with host via What's App & Google translate. If climbing there is good access to the crags (with a car) I chose this place due to heaters, just in case it was cold. We were very glad of them.
The location was perfect, it was close from every climbing spot. The view on the cliffs and the fields is awesome. The place was really clean. Antonio was really kind with us. He offered us some of his delicious oranges from his trees.
The hosts were incredible and so helpful. The location was stunning and the house had everything we needed; we didn’t want to leave. So easy to get to and so easy to get into town and to the climbing/hiking. Such good value too!
Thankfully, they had another room available for extra charge that I asked to be moved from a room facing the street to a room facing the pool + mountains! So close to the train stop at El Chorro
Very quaint old house set into the hillside which has been renovated beautifully, great views of the mountains and walking access to some of the climbing areas directly through the pine forest
We had such a lovely time here. The house was beautiful, in a perfect location for climbing and we were made to feel so welcome and looked after by the owners!
We wanted a private location with a well-equipped kitchen, we got all that + location is amazing - 5 min to climbing/hiking and our hosts were exceptional!!
