Roca Mar Tenerife, hotel in Lomo de Arico

Situated in La Mareta in the Tenerife region with Playa De Tajao and Playa Puerto de Tajao nearby, Roca Mar Tenerife features accommodation with access to a solarium.

We self catered and that was our plan. The location was far more quieter than we thought. We had to rent a car which is very necessary. The owners became best friends and they did all they could to make our stay one to remember. The best sleep we have had in a long time and the view of the Atlantic from the window and balcony was sublime. There is a good bar, Bar San Felipe, 10 minutes away and plenty of fish restaurants 20 minutes away, the walk to them is something else. Very friendly place.

We were put in a room just across the road from where building work was being carried out from 7.30 am. I spoke to the staff. They fobbed us off saying it was local work they didn't know about but the work had been clearly going on for weeks to months. They made wait 2 days to change and then put us in another room closely. I tried to speak to the manager when we left but their photo shoot was far more important. Definitely check if building work is taking place before you go

This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a getaway from the touristic center of Tenerife. The whole complex apartment is spacious and cozy at the same time, and the view from the terrace both during the day and night is so beautiful. Yes, the road there is not simple or easy at first, but we got easily used to it after the first day and were super at-home everytime we slept, cooked or just relaxed in the house. A plus for us were the two lovely and calm dogs in the property, that were so kind and loving! Also, the owner (Tino) was more than available to help us out several times, he made this experience even better!

We went with our baby and the host had thought of everything for him: toys, baby bath, potty, cot… all of these things made the trip so much easier and made us feel at home. She had also thought of so many other details: coffee for the mornings, a basket of her home grown produce as a welcome gift, showing us where we could pick herbs to cook with, home made wine… Despite it being December she also made sure the pool was good for us to use - which we did! The views from the place were so incredible. Like nothing I’ve seen before, we were above the clouds all week, literally! If you like walking I would try and get your hands on a good map of the area because the walking opportunities were endless if you have the right information. I would mention though that the nearest shop and bar are a 10-15 min drive away. It wasn’t a problem for us as the acccomodation was so amazing that we wanted to spend more time there anyway

You need a car to get here and the town is very small. We didn't really spend much time here; we used our finca as a base to go on day trips (or sometimes just relax by the pool. But we were told there's not much going on. Head to the coast for more!
