Breakfast was fine but we were at the end of the season when we think lots was closing down so probably not the same as in high season. Location was ok for us as we have family there but would not visit otherwise as nothing to do.

Villa Ros, hotel in Portman

Boasting a patio with mountain views, a garden and a bar, Villa Ros can be found in Murcia, close to Playa del Lastre and 2.8 km from Cala de Caballo Beach.

The house is lovely. Very spacious including a garage (great for motorcyclists). The location is a little unusual as there is a lot of nearby industrial building (from mining) no longer in use. The hillsides behind are fascinating o exlore. So, it's not a typical beach resort. That said, it's incredibly convenient for Cartagena (less than 30 minutes). The coast is still very lovely and for motorcyclists the road near there are amazing and not busy.

Portman is an interesting village transitioning from an industrial past to a residential/tourist future. It is a good place to use as a base for regional explorations. Great for a bit of R&R.

old mining town and if you come with own transport, nicely located, near Cartagena ( road through mountains showing old mines ) and L'Union. Hope that Spanish government soon will restart with the cleaning of former bay and thus bringing the beach nearer to Portman.
