The hotel is an attractive old building situated in a small village surrounded by hills and mountains, I'm thinking of going back sometime to do some walking in the countryside around the village. We were travelling North to catch the ferry to Portsmouth from Santander and wanted an overnight stop within easy reach of Santander. The hotel is about 5 minutes off the A67 motorway, so access is quite easy. Fernando on reception was friendly and helpful. He kept apologising for his poor English, but it was good enough for us to easily understand him. The room was tastefully decorated and had a good view from the window. Breakfast was self service with typically Spanish items available, more than adequate.

Located on the Santiago Pilgrimage Route, this mountain-style house is a restored mansion from the 17th century. Posada Real La Montañesa offers spectacular views of the surrounding grounds.

Staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help me with some travel arrangements. Despite being near a major highway, the room was fairly well sound proofed. Good air conditioning/heating system.

This hotel is a true gem, everything was perfect. The property is nestled in the picturesque medieval town of Santillana del Mar. Great breakfast, cozy atmosphere, spotless rooms, charming interiors. The location is ideal for wandering around the town, and there are incredible views of the countryside from the terrace. Our host, Rafa, was the absolute best! All in all, a stay we won't forget :)
