Giles was on hand for anything that we wanted, and he was a pleasure to talk to about life in general. His English is really good and he was as good a host as you could find. Lovely warm apartment, with a comfy bed and lots of hot water for the shower.

Abbeville is a great town to stop over for a night or two if...
Abbeville is a great town to stop over for a night or two if you arrive into France via Calais. Its approx 1 hr/1hr 15mins from Le Shuttle. The town is very busy and has a great market on a Thursday morning. The bread and pastry shops are divine and all baked fresh daily. The shops are 'proper shops' no high street chains but family, established businesses and very helpful - try your best to speak a little French, you'd be surprised how much help you get if you at least try a little. For us, as a stop over for a night or two, Abbeville is great - you can park in the Carrefour for 2 hours but we normally pop in there too for some wine or cheese as it's very good,

The cathedral is well worth a visit.

Abbeville is a fairly small town with not much going on.
Abbeville is a fairly small town with not much going on. Restaurants shut early. The river Somme runs through the town, and you can have a walk along it. We chose this as a stop over on our way back to Calais. It was nice to see another town on our journey.

Not enough equipment in the apartment for three people. No internet information and no toiletries. Not even soap to use after the toilet. Filter coffee and machine but no filters so unable to use it. Unable to use the hot rings as only one tiny saucepan available. Staff was hit and miss. The bar was open but no staff available to serve customers. I was sent by the receptionist to go to the restaurant and find the staff. She couldn’t be bothered to ring for me.

We loved the antique store right across the street. The city is a gem and the hotel made everything walking distance, seemed to be plenty of parking when I arrived. Friendly staff, friendly townsfolk, beautiful architecture, nice quaint stores. we also had a room with a view of the city center, what a great addition, will always remember the view. Only stayed one night, wish it was more, will be back for more sometime in the future.

Hosts were warm and welcoming. Breakfast in the courtyard was a rare treat. Loved every moment. Will be going back. Natalie and Xavier clearly love their home and have made it a beautiful, unique space. Xavier gave us loads of ideas on what to do so we really feel we got the most out of our stay in Abbeville.
