This a refurbished mill near Omaha Beach in Normandy. Absolutely beautiful rural setting. The guest quarters resemble a guest bedroom with very comfortable beds. The bathroom was small but beautifully done. The proprietor was happy to show us around the old mill and the various improvements they are making. The hosts speak very good English and gave good advice on what to see in the area, both D-day related and otherwise. The breakfast was hearty - even some local Camembert cheese, which turned out to be too strong for our teenage son (but not for the adults). The eggs were from the hens in the yard. I could envision this as a place to stay for a week or two if you wanted to have an immersive French language experience, or as a base for exploring the Normandy war sites.

This is the sweetest place I have ever stayed. The hosts were wonderful people who took excellent care of me. Location was just off the beach, which was perfect. My French is very minimal, but Emmanuel and Christine were very accommodating to that. I cannot possibly thank them enough, and I hope to have a chance to return!
