Clean, comfortable rooms. the view from the front of the hotel over the lake is gorgeous. We came off season so the restaurants in the village were not open. Gabrielle Hotel let us heat up some food from the epicerie in their kitchen which was kind.

The view from the dining room and terrace is really amazing. The hotel is a little dated but in a wonderful way, it has a huge amount of charm and the old signs are great. My favourite detail was a toilet roll dispenser with a built in ashtray. The dinner and breakfast also good

The hotel is situated in the valley with a view. We got even better room than we payed for as it was free at that time. The restaurant at the hotel offers good quality dinner and breakfast with fresh croissants. The hosts were nice, we might return one day.
Set in the Verdon Regional Park, this hotel features a swimming pool and a shaded terrace in the garden. Regional dishes are served in the hotel’s restaurant.

The geographical situation (we fell in love with the Moutiers-Sainte-Marie village and were impressed by the vertiginous Verdon valley), the tasty and varied breakfast (though it was not ready by the announced time), and the friendly staff. We would also have appreciated the terrace with the pool if the weather would have been warmer.

Location was great- right at the entrance of the D23 drive around the Verdon Gorge. The hotel lobby and balcony faced a beautiful view, you can get a drink from the bar and watch the surrounding. We did not use the swimming pool but it looked very nice! Parking was right in the front, and breakfast was very good. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful- Anthony in the morning, helped us a lot with tips about where to go and what to see, gave us maps and many good suggestions. Frederic in the afternoon, was very helpful with providing whatever we asked, extra towels and even an electric kettle which was not available but he made an effort and found one especially for us.

Auguines is an absolutely lovely little town overlooking a lake. There's a ton of nearby things to do if you enjoy spending time in nature, or touring French villas. My friends and I were there on a rock climbing trip. We could have stayed a lifetime and not climbed everything that Provence had to offer. Plus you'll be gorged with breads, pastries, cheeses, preserved meats, and wines. There's a plethora of locally produced goods at all the nearby shops, that are all fantastic.
This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting the Verdon Gorge area. The host is gracious and kind. He called to offer us a massage, sauna and hot tub during our visit. He also helped us book a wonderful & delicious meal at La Truffe in the nearby town of Aups. Check-in was easy, he explained how everything worked patiently and even brought us a bottle of wine for our hot tub/sauna. He has a beautiful sheep dog that was super well behaved and very friendly.
The hosts, Daniel and Ilyano were most friendly and helpful with every service and request. We have had many hosts in France, in Paris and Provence over the last month who were neither friendly or helpful, often doing only the bare minimum, both with Air B&B and VRBO. It was a pleasure to,stay there, the place is very close, walking distance, to the town of Aiguines, and great access on the Rive Gausche to the Canyon du Verdon.
Lovely campsite with incredible canvas cabins, complete with beds and electricity. Most comfortable campsite we’ve stayed in. Staff were really gracious and were able to speak English which was a huge help for us. Location is close to the entrance of Verdon Gorge and the views from the restaurant were gorgeous. Only challenge we had was how slow dinner service was but we understand we visited during their high season.
A lovely hotel in a lovely location with wonderful views.
The hotel was old and full of character and so pretty and a lovely area to sit and relax. We would thoroughly recommend a stay. A swimming pool was an added bonus where you could swim and still appreciate the view.
Staff were very obliging and friendly.....could have stayed longer !
The hotel is very well located, in the centre of Aiguines and facing the beautiful Sainte-Croix lake. There is a terrace with a stunning view where you can just chill or have a beer while watching the sunset. The room was nice and clean. The host is super friendly. I would definitely recommend to stay there while travelling in the area.

The most amazing BnB! The location was absolutely incredible - just steps from the Gorge du Verdon. The pool is stunning! Eric (the owner) was so kind, friendly, and helpful - he gave us advice on what to do in the area and even helped us to rent a boat. 10/10!!!
Agreed a little run down but thats what is charming about Hotel du Vieux Chateau
Room service provided and friendly staff
Local amenities were within walking distance and free parking available.
Surrounding location was lovely overseeing the Saint Croix lake
A welcome respite when cycling the Gorge du Verdon without electric assist. Welcoming staff to cyclists, good bike storage. Nice dinner (limited choice). and good breakfast. spacious room, very nice clean modern breakfast. Great views of gorge.
Very special hotel with the canyon direct in front of you ! The restaurant is delicious, just the breakfast is to work on.
The stuff is very nice, even with lack of language experience.
I can just recommend 👌
Provence summer dream come true! we love everything about this French countryside chateau. Located in a small town near George du Verdon. about an 45 min. drive to/from Valensole. what a dream!
Authentic castle, nice terrasse outside to take the breakfast under the sun, big swimming pool with view on the lake.
location near Aiguines, convenient to visit the region.
A good sized bedroom and bathroom. Nice to have a hot water kettle and tea and coffee. The hotel kindly stored our 2 bicycles in a downstairs dining room.
The breakfast was absolutely excellent. Way better than any standard hotel buffet. Very friendly and individuell service. And the location is just dreamy.
