The hosts were great. Nothing was too much trouble. They provided lots of local information about where to eat and what we could do in the area. The rooms were very large for France. The hotel had a friendly vibe and felt like the locals used it as their local as well as tourists. Nice breakfast - they asked us what we wanted and were happy to prepare eggs for us.

A beautiful romantic break for two in an exceptional setting in the "Gypsy Caravan". Exceptionally clean throughout with a well equipped kitchen and super comfy bed. We can't big up the "Nordic Hot Tub" enough with its superb views and great for star gazing. We were lucky enough to see the Starlink Satellites.
Lydia & Bruno couldn't do enough for us both and extremely friendly.
A massive thumbs up 👍

Lovely hotel run by a delightful couple, Michelle and Ann-e. They could not do enough for us and made our stay very special. The hotel has a echo of the Far East as the owners have constructed a Chinese garden which is wonderful to wander around.

Lovely typical French medieval village, quite small and very quiet when we were there, (end of May beginning June) Saturday market brought the village to life! Several nice restaurants.
Ideal place to wander around the streets and the local countryside.

It was very quiet and not many places open, probably due to Covid but the place itself is absolutely stunning! Do try to learn a little French before you go! My school French (40 years ago!) came in very handy!! The Troglodite caves are good but could do with an English translation too, maybe just a headset would work? Food in all the restaurants was outstanding.

Belves is a great place for exploring the small villages of the Dordogne. Electric bikes make the river, lake, and lovely villages easy to reach. The pace of life is very slow. You need a car for Sarlat and Chateau de Milandes, where Josephine Baker lived.
The shepherds hut is very comfortable, a comfy bed, a good shower and great cooking facilities. The hot tub is really great, with a beautiful view. The gas BBQ was great.
The location of the shepherds hut is approx 10 minutes walk to the restaurants in Belves and also a supermarket.
The hosts, Lydia and Bruno, are very friendly and accommodating. They are currently building the swimming pool and another chalet on the site therefore the landscape is a bit unfinished however once it is all complete it will be amazing.
The couple running it are fantastic hosts - friendly, helpful and engaging but not over-bearing. They also run the bar-restaurant on the ground floor, which serves simple cold food (the planches) but utterly great ingredients, so if you don't fancy heading out for a meal you only need to walk down 2 flights of stairs. Our trip was driven by practical needs rather than holiday, but we really enjoyed it - Belves is an interesting town well worth a visit, but it was Planches et Plonk that really made it for us.
Arlette picked us up from the train station which was great. It was a very short drive to get to Le Tambourinet. The property is beautiful with gardens all inside and outside the property. Arlette and Christian gave us a very pleasant stay. The house is less than 5 minutes walking to the central area of Belves.
Location is great, very close to the town center and supermarket. Beautiful house with private terrace & garden. Large rooms with lots of space. The town of Belvès itself is stunning. Hosts were very friendly and spoke perfect english.
Kevin is a fabulous host, nothing is too much trouble for him or his staff. The Breakfasts were fabulous with a great spread of food to suit all and the evening menu was also good. There was always a great atmosphere about the hotel
Very pleasant quiet location in the countryside, a short walk into Belves and convenient for travelling to nearby attractions, including Sarlat, Baynac and La Roque Gageac etc.
.
A lovely hotel with lovely hosts. I would recommend to anyone that would like to stay in a tranquil village with good food, drink and people.
Very impressive.
From the terrace, the most fabulous view of a classic medieval French hilltop village. Lovely house with pool and garden and close to all amenities of Belvès.
Very comfortable accommodation a short walk from the center of lovely Belves. Very close to a handy small supermarket. Communication with host was great.
