Breakfast was wonderful. Rachel was a welcoming host and did everything she could to make our stay the best it could be. We were able to park right outside the property.

A pleasant town with quaint streets but short on restaurants open in the evening. The surroundings are almost entirely dominated by the Bourdeaux wine industry, with vineyards stretching in all directions.

A lovely town close to the St Emilion wine area.
A lovely town close to the St Emilion wine area. This provided plenty of opportunity to taste wine and there are also a number of good restaurants. In addition there is quaint local market o Mondays. We also discovered the local golf course - Grand St. Emilion Golf Club.

A good place to stay, as in the area to visit a particular vineyard and the base for their wine tasting was in the town. Not much to see and not much in the way of restaurants, except one really good place with a good atmosphere by the bridge over the river.

Rachel made us feel very welcome and had good suggestions. We went for a lovely walk along the Dordogne, we went to the river beach and we enjoyed our dinners in local outdoor restaurants. Castillon-la-Bataille is a nice little town with very few tourists. Rachel's house is beautiful and the breakfasts on the balcony tasty (nice bread!) and pleasant.
Jana was an exceptional host from start to finish. From ensuring we were able to access the hotel late in evening on arrival to the brilliant breakfast ever morning, we had an amazing time. The pool was a beautiful space and enabled us to fully relax and enjoy our trip. Would recommend to all.
