Good location, breakfast was not spectacular but definitely OK and very reasonable price. We stayed early Jan and rural towns like Confolens are not very lively at this period: that's why we like it.

No food on site, but you could irder pizza in advance or breakfast /bread in advance. There is a hypermarket approx 5-10 mins drive away and the "tent" we had came with sufficient facilities to self cater. The town was a short walk away with some bars / cafes, bank and some restaurants. A fish and chip shop was open Weds to Sat (not tried). The location was delightfully peaceful and right on the River Vienne. Our "tent" was small but had everything we needed including a comfy double bed and power. We were right on the river - it was delightful. The shared wash facilities were very good and at a high standard. Loos are external in a separate block but were clean. Just be prepared as a lot of French camp sites do not provide toilet paper. Would highly recommend this site.

We very much enjoyed our stay and both Debby & Gordon were perfect hosts. We recommend Fleur-de-Lys to anyone who visit the Confolens-area
Confolens is a pretty but small town. It is not great for restaurant choice out of season but we would stay in the area again as we found a nice place to eat and it was easy to walk into town from where we stayed. In summer it would be a good base to explore the area.

We only stayed two nights, passing through.
We only stayed two nights, passing through. Small town with few bars, cafes and restaurants, but quite sleepy with a lot of properties, sadly, boarded up. Still had charm about it. There is a castle / château at Confolens St Germain a short drive away, or a 1-hr walk each way. Great for a short stay.

I really don’t want to review this gem of a place for purely selfish reasons. Great hosts and a lovely building very convenient for the village. We stayed as part of a tour on motorcycles with a group of friends, there’s even a garage for the bikes. Had we known in advance we we would have stayed for a few days, however we will be back at some point. Try the honey while you’re there as well, it’s lovely.
Highly recommended.

The old town is quite compact and is ideal for seeing the sights without getting too exhausted. As the meals at 13bees were very generous, we did not need to try out the local restaurants. But there appeared to be a good selection of them.
Superb welcome, after a bit of trouble finding the place! Great room, lots of space, terrific breakfasts, a truly excellent and helpful chatelaine, for whom nothing was too much trouble…
Altogether off the scale in all regards!
The hotel I moved on to in Pompadour was dire, the exact opposite of Magnolia- made me appreciate my Confolens stay even more! Many thanks indeed!
The accomodation above Arthe tearooms was lovely, a super view of the bridge and right in the centre of town . We loved kitchen area, wonderful cakes and super breakfast. Nick & Mary were lovely relaxed hosts and chatted with us over breakfast. Parking was easy, in the street by the hotel. The town was pretty and we enjoyed a meal at the hotel on the other side of the river.
Everything. The property was beautiful and close to the lovely historical town of Confolens. Amanda and Kevin were excellent hosts being both friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and had a beautiful view over the River Vienne. A delicious continental breakfast was provided.
We would definitely return to 13Bees if we were in the area again. Excellent. Perfect.
Picked this b&b as a first night stop-over on our way to the South so we could visit Confolens. It was so peaceful and relaxed that we will make it a regular stop on our way to and from our house. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, our only disappointment was we didn’t have time to see the bees - next time!
You have good hotels and you have great hotels and you have maison du Magnolia, best place to stay. Davina give you a feeling of home. The hotel is in the middle of Confolens and you can make nice walks in the old district. The breakfast is the best. Davina we come back.
Loved our stay at this beautifully renovated loft appartment. Excellent quality furnishing and lovely decorated, this appartment has everything you need, right in the centre of the lovely town of Confolens.
Huge, very comfi bed and a jacuzzi as a bonus.
The hotel is situated in a very quiet area, about 10 minutes walking distance to the downtown. Very closed to the river, and it's convenient to access Kayak facility. The room and the public shower are very clean. There is a kitchen the guest can use.
Beautiful location on walking distance from Confolens. Great location with kids. Camping is next to the river with it's own Beach. They have canoe's available free to use. In the area there is lots to do with kids.
