Breakfast was OK but nobody serving or present from the staff. We stayed in the same room in 2016 in the tower and like the history and location of the property. The surrounding area is very nice.

INCREDIBLY hospitable hosts! They invited us personally to a celebration of the new chimney, it was so quaint and homely. The style of the house is old, but there were so many little details that were nice. The furniture seemed all more antique, solid wooden breakfast bench - the breakfast was most if not all sourced locally (also from the back garden, with homemade jam and fruits).
We were able to stay with our dog (who was welcome to go to the back garden, which looks like it is amazing to sit outside in the spring/summer... we stayed around Christmas), the host's cocker spaniel was cautiously friendly with our dog, the cat wasn't a huge fan.
We would definitely love to stay here again during a different season!

It's a village, no one bothers you. There's a garage for your car. I guess there are some interesting things around like a porch or an alpaca that is wandering outside - but I didn't have time to check them out.
There's an AC/heating in the room, might come in handy.
The propietary is really nice, speaks English enough to explain everything.
I would totally recommend for one person for one/two nights. For two people, still possible, the bed is big.

My stay at La Burie has most definitely been the highlight of my 10day bike packing tour. Genevieve has been a superb host- great reception, providing fantastic breakfast with lots of homemade stuff and even offering a delicious dinner which was totally unexpected! The rooms are completely renovated and super nicely decorated. I more than recommend this place! ☺️

The little village of Crazannes is actually nothing more...
The little village of Crazannes is actually nothing more than a fee houses. The village Port d’Envaux is further down the Road and is nice, quiet and not much to do (on sunday and monday when everything os closed). The only attraction is (swimming in) the river. But drive a little bit further to Taillebourg, and you will find a beautiful river, some restaurants and a great place for a sunset diner.
