Villa Maria is a fabulous place to stay. The room was comfortable and the decor beautiful and homely. The host gave us a warm welcome and made sure we understood how everything works. She also sells her own honey and.makes beautiful soaps and gifts.
The Restaurant de la Gare at the junction of the same road is a great place to have dinner. The Plat du Jour was delicious and the service was friendly.
It is a good location to explore the area. The citadel in Bitche is definitely worth a visit. It has a good underground audio visual tour in several languages. It's a truly astonishing place looming high above the town.

Fabulous, friendly, cheerful and delightful welcome. It made us very happy and smile. We are 2 long distance cyclists riding from the UK to Italy. The Brit Hot was perfect. It was exactly on our route and whilst the restaurant was closed there was a big restaurant just an easy walk away. It was all perfect. Good room. Good shower. Good breakfast. Good price. And a brilliant Manager. Highly recommended.

Because 2 of jan the restaurant was closed we were advised to visit
Bistro de Casino, 5 minutes by car.
In the dark not easy to drive, but on the parking in front of the casino building what way to go ?
Finally the someone came to show us the way along three times deep down stares in the dark !
You better never advise this place in winter and rain. We found it very dangerous.
The staf did not tell us te have a front door key coming back, so we had to nock on a window.
Furthermore, lovely hotel.
