Vanessa was an excellent hostess.
She made us feel very welcome and the atmosphere at her place is personal, relaxed and comfortable. Her husband is a great chef and the food was just right - not over elaborate and overpriced as is so often the case in France but good home cooking at a good price. The pig, dogs and chickens make the place feel homely and it’s obviously a popular place for locals to come and eat.

This place is a little different, and I suppose it was its very quirkyness that first attracted us. It's a former cowshed, expertly converted by owner Stephane. He did an excellent job too, everything was done to a high standard, with impressive electronics and a heated swimming pool that we didn't have a chance to use. We saw no evidence of any other inhabitants on the site but Stephane, who had been away on business, called for a friendly chat just as we were getting ready to leave.
